Norma Jean Cline, 94, of Jonesboro, passed peacefully from this life on Tuesday, November 11, 2025. She had made Jonesboro her home since 1993 and was a member of Nettleton Baptist Church.
Born on September 11, 1931, in Bono, Arkansas, Norma was the daughter of the late Cletus and Faye Lakey. A proud graduate of Bono High School, she was the owner and operator of two supermarkets and later in life worked as a bookkeeper for Clairday Foods and Morgan’s A&G.
Norma’s life was centered around her family and faith. She loved watching her children and grandchildren play sports and could always be found cheering them on from the sidelines. She enjoyed watching Dr. Phil and cherished her trips to Branson and Memphis with her sisters, creating countless memories along the way.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Melvin Cline; two sisters, Corene Pinchback and Shirley Dent; her daughter-in-law, Rhonda Cline; and her brother-in-law, Lloyd Pinchback.
Those left to treasure her memory include two sons, Brent Cline of Jonesboro and Todd Cline (Patti) of Vilonia; one daughter, Teresa Angle (John) of Mammoth Spring; her brother-in-law, Clarence “Scoot” Dent; grandchildren, Ashley Layne (Chip) of Mammoth Spring, Courtney Ledbetter (Drew) of Fayetteville, and Paige Cline of Vilonia; great-grandchildren, Dax Ledbetter, Taylor Layne (Morgan), and Whitlee Layne; great-great-grandson, Walker Layne; as well as several nieces, nephews, and a lifetime of dear friends.
Visitation will be held Friday, November 14, 2025, at Emerson Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Bro. Kevin Barnett officiating.
Active pallbearers will include Randy Dent, Chip Layne, Taylor Layne, Andrew McFarlin, Ryan Angle, and Nolan Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Rick Carter, Brad Dent, Tommy Morgan, and Stacy Greene.
Norma will be remembered for her gentle spirit, unwavering love for her family, and the joy she brought to everyone who knew her.
