Norene Hendricks

June 22, 1953 — March 30, 2025

Norene Hendricks, 71, of Jonesboro, passed peacefully from this life on March 30, 2025, at St. Bernards Medical Center after a long and courageous battle with illness. She was born on June 22, 1953, in Jonesboro to the late Jeff Wood and Virginia Jones Wood.

A devoted wife, mother, and friend, Norene was a longtime member of Strawfloor Baptist Church, where she and her husband worshipped together for 47 years. She was a selfless giver, always looking for ways to help those less fortunate. Whether volunteering to fill local food pantries or working with organizations like Samaritan’s Purse, Norene found joy in serving others. Her 15-year career with Crowley’s Ridge Development Council provided yet another avenue for her to support and uplift her community.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Claudine Blackston.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, Kenneth Hendricks of Jonesboro; her loving daughter, Beth Hendricks of Jonesboro; and her brother, Bill Taylor of Jonesboro.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a Celebration of Norene’s Life on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Strawfloor Baptist Church. The family will receive guests from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. as they honor and cherish the memory of a remarkable woman who touched so many lives.

Norene’s kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
