Norene Brown

September 2, 1939 — January 4, 2007

Norene Brown, 67, of Jonesboro died Thursday January 4, 2007 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center.

She was born in Ripley, Tennessee and lived in Jonesboro most of her life, and a retired cook for Central Drug Store. She was an avid card player and loved to go on short trips. She was a long standing member of First General Baptist in Jonesboro.

She is preceded in death by her loving parents, N.T. and Lena Mae Lumpkin Brown. Two loving brothers, Waymon Brown and Bill Brown. Three loving sisters, Norvis Holland, Mae Miller and Millie Gilmore all of Jonesboro.

She is survived by her daughter Lisa Hogue and her husband Curtis of Jonesboro.

Two sons, Steve Fortenberry and Larry Fortenberry and his wife Clara all of Jonesboro.

One sister: Carolyn Jones and her husband Gene of Jonesboro.

Brother-in-law Jake Miller of Jonesboro.

Four Grandchildren: Curtis, Cody,Casey Hogue and Lil Steven Fortenberry. Also several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends who will miss her everyday.

Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday January 6, 2007 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Jimmy Young officiating. Burial will be at Shiloh Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. Friday January 5, 2007 at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro.

Active Pallbearers will be, Tim Jones, Michael Cole, James Foster, Stephen Foster, Barry Jones and Ronald Rowland.

Honorary Pallbearers will be, James Cole and Mark Steele.
