Noah Christopher Reeves

May 25, 2001 — January 7, 2020

Noah Christopher Reeves, 18, of Jonesboro lost his battle with brain cancer on Tuesday, January 7th, 2020. He is survived by his parents, Chris and Autumn Brown-Reeves, his grandparents, Leroy and Barbara Brown, Judy (Scott) Riggle and Rick Reeves, as well as two aunts, two uncles and several cousins.

Noah was born in May of 2001, in Jonesboro, AR, the first grandchild and nephew into a family that loved to spoil him. Instead of becoming a spoiled brat, he bloomed into being one of the kindest, most giving teenagers. His gentle nature abhorred bullying and injustice. Noah was not a pushover though. He was very into fitness, and achieved the first degree black belt at the age of 16.

Noah’s real passion was for computers, and he planned on becoming the next Elon Musk. He often won computer competitions, amongst older students. He was very into renewable and self-sustaining food and energy supplies. Some of his last projects were a greenhouse, building an aquaponics system, installing solar panels, making reusable gas from fire, and a wind turbine generator.

His world and the world of everyone close to him changed when he was diagnosed with Grade IV Glioblastoma multiforme at age 17, a rare form of brain cancer not often found in children of his age.

Noah would not accept that without a fight. After radiation and chemo failed, he made the decision to become a superhero by entering a clinical immunotherapy trial at St. Jude in Memphis. His goal was to stay in the study as long as possible, in the hopes that the doctors will learn something new and hopefully more children would not have to go through what he did.

In Noah’s 18 years, he touched more people’s lives and hearts than most people do in a lifetime. The bravery he showed while going through his trials is amazing. He had good and bad days, but as long as he knew that he was contributing to a cure, it was worth it.

Noah made his wishes known - he does not want us to be sad - he wants us to go and live the best lives we can. His memory will live forever with those who knew him, loved him, and with people he’d never met, just by being him. Noah is truly a testament to strength and courage, and those of us left behind must honor him with strength and courage.

The family would especially like to thank the staff and patients at St. Jude Hospital, Le Bonheur Hospital, Ronald McDonald House of Memphis and Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House at St. Bernard’s. The time and care given to our sweet pea was absolutely above and beyond the call of duty.

Services will be held at Emerson’s Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 14th. Family visitation is from noon to one, and public visitation is from one to three, with the service to begin at three. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to St Jude Hospital and Ronald McDonald House of Memphis.
