Nicole Turner Sloan

January 24, 1971 — October 7, 2011

Nicole Turner Sloan, born January 24, 1971 in Fayetteville, died unexpectedly last week at the age of 40. Nicole graduated from Jonesboro High School in the class of 1989 and attended Arkansas State University. After college she lived and worked in Jonesboro, Memphis, Little Rock, and Irvine and Santa Ana, California before returning to Jonesboro. She worked with computer accounting, database and mapping applications for medical, transport and marketing businesses. Nicole was a talented artist who drew, did pottery and sculpture, designed jewelry, and did computer art work/graphics. She was an avid computer gamer and loved her cat, Fergie. She was loved by and loved all her extended family. She was always there for her friends to help in any way she could.

She is survived by grandparents: Emaline Holleman of Wynne, Victoria Hummelstein and Betty Sloan of Jonesboro; parents: Nancy Holleman of Santa Ana, California and Randy Turner of Jonesboro; guardians: John and Lee Ann Sloan of Jonesboro; step brothers; John Turner and Matthew Sloan; great-aunts and great-uncles; Bonnie Holleman Campbell, Lucille Powell, Irma Jennings, Earl Moore and Phillip Moore; aunts and uncles: David Holleman, Gary and Darcy Turner, Vicki Hummelstein, Sam and Marilyn Hummelstein, Jim and Rosemary Sloan, Kitty Sloan and Bob Bernhard, Cyndy and Roy Shepherd, Charlie and Becca Sloan, and Mary Sloan; and a host of other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harlan “Bo” Holleman, Lawrence & Lucille Turner, Lee Hummelstein, and Rena Wiggins.

A Memorial Service will be on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. John Miles II officiating. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be private.
