Nicholas Shawn McCloud Sr. “Nick”, 51, of Jonesboro, AR passed away on November 8, 2017 surrounded by his family at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center. He was born May 15,1966 and raised in Jonesboro by his parents, Dr. Hal and Marilyn McCloud. An All-American through and through, Nick played sports all through his school years and continued to play baseball at the college level while attending Arkansas State University before joining the service in 1990.
Nick was a Gulf War veteran and proudly served 8 years in the US Marine Corps from 1990 to 1998. Fighting for his country was the greatest honor of his life.
Since then, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and fishing as much as he could. Known as being the life of the party, Nick always found a way to stand out in the crowd. With the loudest voice in the room, when he spoke you couldn’t help but listen and most of the time you couldn’t help but laugh. Whether it was his jokes and sense of humor or the bright new colorful Nike’s on his feet, Nick was the guy that nobody forgets.
Nick was a man of God, a devoted husband, a die-hard Kansas City Chiefs fan, and loved his family above all else.
