Nelma H. Barnhill

Nelma (Pauline) Barnhill, 88, of Jonesboro, died Monday at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.

Nelma was born in Jonesboro and lived in Bay before moving back to Jonesboro in 1965. She was a retired bookkeeper for Ben Honeycutt's Rainbow Auto Auction and was of the Baptist belief. Nelma was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Olive Chapter and was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest W. Barnhill, son, Barney Barnhill, her parents: William F. and Ada Stiles Isaacs, 2 brothers: Troy Isaacs and Donald Isaacs, 2 sisters: Lola McCloud and Veoma Isaacs and a granddaughter, Kathy Walker.

Survivors include: daughter, Paulette Barnes of Jonesboro;
1 sister, Irene Bush;
4 grandchildren: Amanda (Philip) Yearta, and Carrie (Paul) Schwarz, both of Jonesboro, Susan (Mark) Dye of Fayetteville, and Bridgett Davidson of Paragould;
7 great grandchildren: Cannon Yearta, Wade Yearta, Addison Schwarz, Avery Schwarz, Jordann Dye, Michelle Walker and Ashlyn Davidson;
A special daughter-in-law: Darlene Barnhill of Jonesboro;
2 sisters-in-law: Julie Isaacs of Las Vegas and Thelma Isaacs of Knoxville, Tennessee;
Her special friend and caregiver, Dee McCullough of Jonesboro; and
daughter-in-law: Linda (Tommy) Sitzer of Jonesboro.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Doug Welborn officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.

Active Pallbearers include: Philip Yearta, Paul Schwarz, Tommy Sitzer, Mark Dye, Wade Yearta and Cannon Yearta. Honorary pallbearers include members of the Order of Eastern Star.

Visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. in Emerson Chapel.
