Nellie Marie Terrell

Nellie Marie Smullin Terrell, 73 of Lake City, died Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Marie was born to Frankie and Ella Despain Smullin in McCormick, Arkansas on February 10, 1939. Marie lived in Lake City most of her life.

She lived in New Johnsonville, TN while working for DuPont for 15+ years. Upon retirement, she moved back to Lake City.

Marie loved working in the yard and gardening; she was Martha Stewart mixed with Bob Villa; she was the planner of the family gatherings and loved to cook. She also enjoyed playing bunko.

Marie is preceded in death by a son, Charles Douglas Terrell; brothers, James Earl Smullin, Thurman Smullin, Kenneth Smullin and Gary Wayne Smullin and a sister, Nana Lou Seay.

Suvivors include her ex-husband and best friend, Charles Terrell of Lake City; sons, Donnie (Vicki) Terrell and Steve (Cindy) Terrell of Lake City; brother Carles (Judy) Smullin of Tyronza; sister, Ella Sue Weaver of Trumann and 5 grandchildren, Sean, Layne, Adam, Renee and Aaron.

Service will be Monday, February 11, 2013 at Emerson Memorial Chapel at 1:00 PM with Greg Rainwater and Larry Owens officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.

Pallbearers will be Mike Sullivan, Chevy Sullivan, Sean Terrell, Jim Miller, John Throgmorton and Monte Emery.

A Celebration fellowship (Visitation) will be Sunday, February 10, 2013 from 2-4 at Emerson Funeral Home.
