Nellie Mae Johnston

Nellie Mae Johnston, 96, of Brookland died Monday February 24, 2014 at NEA Baptist Hospital. She was born in Brookland, Arkansas on January 13, 1918 to Andrew and Elnora Diggs. Nellie had lived in Brookland her entire lifetime and was a member of the Brookland Baptist Church. Nellie loved the Razorback Basketball games and loved to work cross word puzzles every day.

She was preceded in death by her husband; Roy Johnston in 2007, parents; Andrew and Elnora Diggs; 2 sons; Gene Johnston , Jerry Johnston, son in law Frank Childers and a grandson; Bradley Childers.

Survived by her daughter; Donna Childers of Brookland.

Daughter in law; Martha Johnston of Jonesboro.

8 grandchildren; Scott Childers, Holly Baltz, Melanie Clark, Ronny Johnston, Phillip Johnston, Lela Duhon, Stacy Johnston and Heather Tilley.

13 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M. Thursday February 27, at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Sister Naomi Rogers officiating. Burial will be private with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.

Visitation will be from 12:00 noon. until service time on Thursday February 27, 2014 at Emerson Funeral Home.
