Nellie Ann Davis Bogard

Nellie A. Bogard, of Jonesboro went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 23, 2016 at the age of 83. Nellie Ann Davis Bogard was born on October 10, 1932 in Dixie, Arkansas to Chester and Trannie Davis. She was a 1951 graduate of Dixie High School in Dixie, Arkansas. She was hardworking, friendly, and a loyal wife, mom and grandmother. She loved her friends and her family. Nellie was passionate about basketball, cooking and having all her loved ones gathered around the table. She was a hard working employee at Safeway and Massanelli Cleaners. She retired from Safeway after 40 years. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

Nellie was preceded in death by her son, Jerry Don Bogard of Jonesboro; her parents and her brother, Ellis Eugene Davis of Newport.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Donald Bogard; son, Bruce Bogard (Deborah) of Delaware; granddaughters, Abby Bogard and Brooks Bogard Atkinson (Chris) of Collierville, Tennessee; great granddaughters, Mattie Grace and Emma Kate Atkinson; and her daughter in law, Lynn Bogard of League City, Texas.

Funeral services will be 10:00 Friday, May 27, 2016 at Emerson Funeral Home with Mitch Ford officiating and burial to follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Robert Speer, Eddie Morgan, Danny Cook, Sam Johnston, Dennis Graham and Chris Atkinson serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Tommy Morgan and Brian Johnston. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM on Friday until service time.
