Neil Whittaker

February 21, 1941 — April 27, 2024

Neil Cameron Whittaker, 83, journeyed from this life on April 27, 2024, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House, surrounded by the warmth of loved ones. Born on February 21, 1941, to the late Carl and Allie Whittaker in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas.

A member of Temple Baptist Church, Neil found solace and community within its walls. His professional life was marked by his dedication to the field of construction, where he left an indelible mark through his hard work and commitment.

Beyond the rigors of work, Neil found his true joy in the simple pleasures of life. A lover of the great outdoors, he cherished moments spent hunting and fishing, finding peace in nature's embrace. Yet, his greatest source of happiness came from the time spent with his cherished family. He also had a love of BBQing that he shared with his son.

Neil was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Luejean Whittaker, and his sisters, Carla Benson and Barbara Brown.

Neil is survived by his son, Michael Whittaker (Pamela) of Jonesboro; daughter, LuAnn Jones (Jason Pabst) of Kansas City, Missouri; sister, Ruby Couch; grandchildren; Heather Hoagland (Josh), Kristin Jones, Kylen Whittaker (Benton), Emily Sparks (William), and John Cameron Whittaker; great grandchildren: Mia, Heath, and Alex Hoagland.

The visitation will be held Thursday Evening from 5-6 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home.

The memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at Emerson Funeral Home. Burial will be private.
