Nathan “Morris” Wheeless II, 71, of Jonesboro died at his home on December 11, 2013. He was born on August 14 1942, in Hattiesburg Mississippi to Nathan and Deloris (Yawn) Wheeless. He graduated from Jonesboro High School in 1960. He spent over 50 years in the Amusement machine business, taking over the business from his father and later becoming the owner and operator of Jonesboro Music Company.
He was a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church.
Morris became a Master Mason in 1975. He was a past Master of Nettleton Masonic Blue Lodge #657 F&AM. There he received the honor of becoming the recipient of the Pillars of Solomon award from the Grand Lodge of Arkansas. He was a past Worthy Patron of Nettleton Chapter # 409 O.E.S., also a Past Patron of Olive Chapter # 147 O.E.S. in Jonesboro. He was a past member of the Shriners and held the title of K.C.C.H. in the Scottish Rite Bodies of Arkansas.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and crossword puzzles. The coffee shop was his second home. He loved to spend time with his family and Christmas was one of his favorite times of the year.
Survivors are his wife Maxine Wheeless of the home. son; Nathan Wheeless (Kathie) of Bono. daughters; Maria Martin (Eric) of Clearwater, Florida and Lillian Coffman(Norman) of Jonesboro. grandchildren; Adam, Wheeless, Christopher Wheeless, Christina Wheeless, Preston Hill, and Haley Coffman. brother; Jim Wheeless of Jonesboro.
A Celebration of his life will be held at Emerson Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with Jim Carter officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge. The burial will be private.
