Nancy Grayson Parker, 78, of Jonesboro, passed peacefully from this life on February 12, 2018 at the Phil and Flo Jones Hospice House

She was born June 30, 1939 in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Willie LaVerne Allen and Robert Grayson Lamb. Nancy was a graduate of Harrisburg High School and Arkansas State University. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Jonesboro.
Mrs. Parker married Donald Leon Parker on August 28, 1960. They lived in Harrisburg before moving to Jonesboro in 2006. They enjoyed 56 years together before his death on December 31, 2016. Nancy taught 5 th grade reading until her retirement in 1974. Nancy went back to Arkansas State University, earning a degree in Marketing before establishing her ladies= apparel store, Seasons of Jonesboro, in 1985. After her husband=s retirement from farming in 1999, they opened a men's apparel store, Grayson's for Men. Both retired from the retail clothing business in 2008.
Nancy was very active with her children's activities, and when her grandchildren were born, she loved spending time with them. Nancy loved to watch her granddaughters play tennis and volleyball and loved spending time with her grandsons. She also loved to paint and enjoyed exhibiting her artwork.
Survivors include a son and daughter in law, Donald L. Parker II and Lynn McKnight Parker of Jonesboro; a daughter, Celeste Parker Vereen of Little Rock; 5 grandchildren: Clara Elizabeth Parker, Anna Sims Parker, Sydney Grayson Parker, Jackson Parker Vereen, and Augustus Williams Vereen; a sister, Linda Lamb Collier and husband Darrell of Leander, Texas and a brother, Robert Allen Lamb, of Harrisburg. Nancy is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews in addition to a multitude of friends.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the Visiting Angels for their wonderful compassionate care, especially Khadijah Sharks, Sherry Hudson, Sheryna Chadwick, Tammy Flemon, Shawna Tyner, Chetu Robinson, Veonia Jackson, Jill Harris, Marilyn Johnson, and the head angel, Kenna Harrelson.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on February 15, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary at First United Methodist Church in Jonesboro with Rev. John Miles and Rev. Patty Soward officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the Celebration of Life Service from Noon until 1:30 p.m. in the Atrium at First United Methodist Church. Internment will be private at Harrisburg Memorial Gardens.
