Nancy Ann Hawes, 92, of Jonesboro formerly of Waterford, Michigan passed away Thursday, March 23, 2023 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born May 28, 1930 in Pewamo, Michigan to the late Leon and Cordula Townsend. Nancy was a homemaker most of her life. She was a member of Dixie Baptist Church while living in Michigan. After moving to Jonesboro, she became a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. Nancy enjoyed bird watching, crocheting and embroidery. Most of all she loved spending time with family and camping.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Ralph Hawes; daughter, Roxanne Meyers; granddaughter, Faith Ann; sisters, Francis, Evelyn and a brother Leon.

Survivors include her 3 sons, Russell (Karen), Glenn (Carrie), Kevin (Pat); daughter, Luann (Jim); son in law, Jim Meyers; sister, Shirley (Ed); 11 grandchildren: Jeffery (Tracy), Matthew (Lora), Melissa (Ryan), Jason (Stephanie), Shawn, Nathan (Rebecca), David (Ashley), Veronica (Chad), Rachel, Ryan and Sarah and 13 great grandchildren: Alyssa, Brittney, Chelsea, Ben, Haley, Olivia, James, Bethany, Leon, Lillian, Rylee, Gracie and Stella.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Ryan Price officiating. Burial will follow at Nettleton Cemetery.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
