Nancy Kay Brashears, of Marked Tree, Arkansas, passed away on May 25, 2024, at the age of 66 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 30, 1957, in Lepanto, Arkansas, to Thomas and Hollis Russell.
Nancy was a woman of many talents and passions. She found joy in crocheting, sewing quilts, reading, painting, and fishing with her beloved husband, Wade. Her love for animals was evident to all who knew her. Each morning began with a cup of coffee and a cinnamon Pop-Tart, a simple pleasure she cherished. Nancy had a fondness for watching westerns and movies, and she had a unique ability to see the good in everyone she met. She enjoyed her trips to Walmart and made it a point to check on her friends and family every morning and night. Above all, Nancy loved her family deeply, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Hollis Russell; her brother, William Russell; and her sisters, Kathy Lucas and Zettie Croney.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Wade Brashears, of the home; her son, Michael Brashears (Crystal) of Marked Tree; her daughter, Theresa Roark (Jason) of Tyronza; her brothers, Lee Russell (Debbie) of Marked Tree and Mervin Russell (Becky) of North Carolina; her sister, Bonnie Franks (Ricky) of Marked Tree. She also leaves behind five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Emily from Elite Hospice for her compassionate care and support.
