Najmi Haydar

August 14, 1958 — April 29, 2021

Najmi A Haydar, son, brother, husband, father, friend, age 62, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, passed away April 29,2021 of natural causes. Najmi migrated from Pakistan with his parents and siblings in the mid 1960’s to Illinois moving to Jonesboro in the early 1970’s. He graduated from JHS, attended ASU and received a BS in Zoology. Najmi in many ways was like his Dad. He was very smart and knowledgeable on a variety of subjects as he was an avid reader and historian. He loved to make everyone laugh and was the comedian of the family. He loved his children and family fiercely as well as his cat Taz. His hobbies and skills included playing chess, tennis, golf, gun collecting, hunting, cooking, and even flying planes! Najmi is survived by his mother, Mrs. Chand A. Haydar of Jonesboro, his wife of nine years, Kim Haydar of Tennessee, his sons, BJ (Mindy) Haydar, and Corey (Kayla) Haydar, three grandchildren Bjorn, Mercy and London, his brothers Aslam (Sameera) Haydar, Arif (Nuzhat) Haydar, and his sister Tara (Abbas) Raza, and their respective children. He is preceded in death by his father, Dr. Afak Haydar (2007) and his son Caleb Haydar (2013). May my Muna Rest in Heavenly peace and now you are free to soar the skys and watch over us! We will miss you much and always love you lots! I’m always proud of you!
