Nadine Runsick

July 29, 1938 — December 13, 2020

Nadine M. Runsick, 82, of Jonesboro, passed from this life on Sunday, December 13, 2020, at the Hospice Home Care House in Little Rock after a brief battle with cancer.

Born in Shreveport, Louisiana, Nadine grew up there and was a graduate of Rhodes College in Memphis. She moved to Jonesboro in 1963 and taught elementary school for many years in the Jonesboro-Trumann area.

She was a long-time member of First Presbyterian Church of Jonesboro where was a past Elder and Deacon of the Church Session. For several years she served as a Sunday school teacher and was active in the Ladies Circles Bible study groups. She taught water aerobics for many years at the Trim Gym in Jonesboro. The family wishes to express deep appreciation to the staff of Hospice Home Care of Little Rock for the excellent care given to Nadine during her stay.

Nadine was preceded in death by her parents: William Samuel, Sr. and Goldia Simmons McKinley, and two brothers: William "Bill" McKinley, Jr. and Cameron McKinley.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Runsick of the home;

three sons and daughters-in-law: Alan and Dione Jessup of Benton, Joel Jessup of Mountain Home, and Jeff and Tonya Runsick of Searcy;

one daughter and son-in-law, Cara and Scott Mitchell of Atlanta;

a sister-in-law, Anne McKinley; and

twelve grandchildren: Logan Jessup, Jackson Jessup, Taylor Capel, T.J. Capel, Nathan Runsick, Emma Runsick, Sarah Runsick, Bryan Mitchell, Jacob Eakes, Katie Franks (Jacob), Preston White and Alexis White.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Matt Bussell officiating. Burial will follow in Nettleton Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as active pallbearers.

Visitation will precede the funeral service from 1:00-2:00 in the chapel.
