Myrtle Weir Schultz

July 25, 1928 — July 7, 2016

Myrtle Weir Schultz, 87, of Jonesboro, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2016, at St. Bernards Medical Center.

Myrtle was born in Walnut Ridge and lived several years in the area before moving to Rock Falls, Illinois, where she lived before moving to Jonesboro in 1979. She worked most of her life as a cosmetologist and was a member of the Baptist Church.

Myrtle enjoyed sewing, fishing and cooking for her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Clarence "Jack" Weir, by her second husband, Roger Schultz; and by 5 sisters and 1 brother.

Survivors include 5 sons and daughters-in-law: Corwyn and Jo Weir, Malcomb Weir, and Kurt and Lisa Weir all of Jonesboro, Keenan and Linda Weir of Lexington, Kentucky, and Gregory and Becky Weir of Tumbling Shoals;
11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild.

A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Bill Becker officiating. Burial will follow in Manning Cemetery #2 near Sedgwick. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. Sunday prior to the service.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family wishes to say, "Thank You" to the staff of 3-East at St. Bernards for the deeply personal, professional, comforting and compassionate care given to Myrtle during her stay.

For lasting memorials, the family asks that consideration be given to the Manning #2 Cemetery Association.
