Myron Rolf Flugstad

Myron Flugstad, 65 of Jonesboro, passed from this life Monday, August 22, 2016 at NEA Baptist Hospital. He was born March 25, 1951 in Canton, South Dakota to Kenneth and Marian Smith Flugstad. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Myron was an assistant director at the Arkansas State University library. He loved traveling, trying exotic foods, and working crossword puzzles. He was an avid reader and had a collection of over 5000 books.

Myron was a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church where he was very active. He served as congregational president several times and was also Financial Secretary for several years. Myron was also very active in professional library associations. During his career, he organized and supervised the installation of the first automated library system at the ASU Dean B. Ellis Library. Through the years, he continued to supervise and maintain the installation of subsequent library systems that included Internet access.

Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Martha of the home; stepson, David Bennett, of Conway; brother, Rev. Joel Mark Flugstad and his wife Lenita of Oklahoma City, OK; 2 nephews, James Flugstad of Chicago and Jonathan Flugstad of Washington, D.C.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Our Saviour Lutheran Church from 1-2 pm. Service will began at 2 pm with Rev. Joel Flugstad officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Bailey, Ed Hammerand, Jim Askeland, Clint Vogus, Julius Miller, Jackson Miller.
Honorary pallbearers will be Russ Shain and Robert F. Taylor
