Myrl S. Becker

Myrl S. Becker 94, of Jonesboro died Sunday March 13, at Jonesboro Health Care Center.

She was born in Lepanto and had lived in Jonesboro since 1957. She was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and also the Mt Carmel United Methodist. She was affectionately known as “Mrs B”. She served as a bookkeeper at Central Drug Store. In later years, she was foster grandparent with the Area Agency on Aging, was five years at the Alternative School, eleven years at the Newborn Nursery of Methodist Hospital, and retired from there at the age of 81.

She was preceded in death by her husband Orin L. Becker, parents, 3 sisters, 1 son and 1 grandson.

Survived by her daughters; Ellen Sauerbier of Blue Island, Illinois and Mary Anne Walk of Madison, New Jersey.

Three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be at 11:30 Wednesday at Potters Cemetery in Lepanto with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.

Visitation will be from 9-10:00 A.M. with a rosary said at 9:30 A.M. Wednesday at Emerson Memorial Chapel.
