Murlis J. Proffer, 82, of Jonesboro formerly of Senath, MO passed away on December 15, 2017 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.
Murlis was born in Bucoda, Missouri on November 11, 1935 to the late Jewell and Mamie Hart Collins. She was a franchise owner of a Western Auto. She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church in Senath before moving her membership to Walnut Street Baptist Church. She was a very loving mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Proffer; brothers, Jewell Jr., Jimmy, Roger, Gary, Bobby Collins; sisters, Betty Collins, Melba Pender, and Shirley Rickman; and a great granddaughter, Layla Hedrick.
She is survived by her daughters, Connie Tripod and Jeff of Finch, Kathy Samples of Jonesboro; son, Shane Proffer and Jennifer of Jonesboro; brother, Lannie Collins of Cabot; grandchildren, Laura Brantley, Sarah Hedrick, Matthew Tripod, Joshua Warner, Megan Warner, Caleb Proffer, Caroline Proffer; great grandchildren, Holland Hedrick, Nathan Brantley, Elizabeth Brantley, Lucy Tripod, Reagan Howard; and a host of other family and friends.
Graveside service will be at 1:00p.m. on December 30, 2017 at Senath Cemetery with Doug Clinton officiating.
