Mr. Bill Findley, 65, a lifetime resident of Jonesboro, died on Sunday, July 14, 2024. He was born in Jonesboro on September 15, 1958, to William Lyle and Alfreda Sue Findley. He was of the Baptist belief. Mr. Bill, as he was affectionally called, retired after 40 distinguished years with the Jonesboro Fire Department. Upon his retirement, he has the longest years of service in Jonesboro’s history. He served his country honorably as a US Marine. In addition to being a great husband and a terrific dad, he was known for his practical jokes. He enjoyed fishing, tinkering with cars, and could build just about anything. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Bonnie Wheeler.
Survivors include is wife of 45 years, Judi Findley of the home; sons, Mike and wife, Brandy of Navarre, Florida; Danny and wife, Vickey of Fort Worth, Texas; brother, Michael Reynolds and wife, Teri of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Cody and Brittany and one great grandchild, Bear.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, July 19, 2024, at Emerson Memorial Chapel with full honors by the Jonesboro Fire Department Honor Guard, and Jonesboro Firefighters Pipes and Drums. JFD Chaplin Mitch Ford will officiate, and Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Honorary pallbearers are Jonesboro Fire Fighters, past and present. Visitation will be from 1:00 until service time. The burial will be private.
