Monica J. Christopher

Monica J. Christopher, 73, of Jonesboro, died Friday, September 5, 2025, at St. Bernards Medical Center.  She was born on September 24, 1951, to Elmer Raymond and Betty Jane Wiley.  She had lived in Jonesboro for 41 years, moving here from Flagstaff, Arizona.  She was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Jonesboro and was a graduate of the Faith Bible Institute (FBI).  She enjoyed crocheting, baking and watching her kids and grandkids grow up.  According to the grands, she made the best peanut butter cookies and Jello popcorn balls of anybody ever.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Christopher; son, Jason Christopher; great grandson, Eli; and one sister.

Survivors include her sons, Sean Christopher of Jonesboro; Brian Christopher of Seattle, Washington; Roger LaGrange of Madison, Wisconsin; James LaGrange and wife Dawn of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin; and Joe LaGrange; daughters, Tiffany Christopher of Jonesboro; Dawn Elian and D.J. Motes of Jacksonville, Arkansas; brother, Michael Wiley and wife Deborah of Mesa Arizona; sisters, Marta Purvis of Sun City West, Arizona; Mary Smith and husband, Quinton of Mesa, Arizona; Milissa Swan and husband, Bill of Bossier City, Louisiana; 21 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at Temple Baptist Church with Andy Neal officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.  All other services will be private.  To sign an online guestbook, go to emersonfuneralhome.com.
