Misty René Graddy died at her home in Jonesboro Arkansas on Friday May 31, 2013. She was born in Jonesboro on June 30, 1979. She was 33 yrs 11 months and 1 day old. She spent the first 16 yrs of her life in Jonesboro and attended school and church in the local community. In late 1998 she moved to Kentucky where she graduated from Paducah Tilghman High School in 2000. Shortly after graduating high school she began her career as an advocate and a representative for individuals who are differently abled. She sat on the Junior Board of Directors of the Vice Presidential Museum of Alben Barkley, as well as working as a docent at the Yeiser Center for Art. In 2002 she was appointed to the Commonwealth of Kentucky's Governors DD Council, along with her mother. She served two and one half terms under two different administrations. Misty's favorite job was working with the individuals in the HEARTH program. She was an expert listener and though she was non-verbal the individuals that knew her well knew she spoke volumes. After coming back to Jonesboro for health reasons, she enjoyed times spent with her family and extended family. Her smile is/was famous and her laughter was genuine and earned but she would get so tickled she would laugh until she couldn't catch her breath. She loved music and people singing to/for her. She especially enjoyed live tracks because of the clapping- you see da Queen thought all those people were clapping for her. Her absence from this life means that she is present with the Father, and though the gap left is as gaping as the Grand Canyon the joy that is before has to fill you with delight, Misty da Queen died with a huge smile on her face. What a wonderful place heaven must be!
