Milissia Ladon Knight

Milissia Knight, 52, died June 19, 2013 at her home. She was a lifelong resident of Lake City. She was a member of Bethabara Baptist Church who enjoyed listening to music. Milissia was an animal lover and played the piano when she was younger.

She is survived by her husband of 9 ½ years, Leonard Knight, of the home; her son, David (Calandra) Short of Jonesboro; her daughter, Megan Short of South Carolina; her mother, Dorothy Despain; brother, Chris (April) Despain; and sister, Redena (Gene) Turner, all of Lake City.

Milissia was preceded in death by her father, Vernus Despain.

Funeral services will be Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Don Seat officiating. Burial will follow in Macey Cemetery. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will include David Short, Gene Turner, Chris Despain, Larry Knight, Tim Baldinger, and Heath Fields.

Visitation will be Friday 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
