Mildred C. Gray, 94 years of age, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2025 at St Bernard's Hospital, in Jonesboro, AR.
Mildred was born in Newport, Arkansas on October 13, 1930 to the late William Harvey and late Etter Davis Emery. She married Daniel J. Gray (deceased) in 1949.
She was a farmer/land owner throughout her life and devoted her life to her family, her faith and friends. She was a devoted Christian and a member of the Pentecostal faith.
Mildred always took time to listen to others and offer encouragement and her wealth of wisdom to others if asked. Her soft, compassionate, comforting manner made others want to seek her advice and friendship. Her quick wit combined with her positive attitude help draw others to her as well.
Mildred loved doing things with others, she volunteered to help others, as a foster parent, in her church activities and in many other ways.
Mildred has four children, Brenda Gray-Wheeler (Owen), David Gray (Debbie), Linda Gray-VanHorn (deceased, Johnny-deceased) and Vickie Gray-Deathearge (Terry-deceased).
Mildred has three grandchildren; Amber Deathearge-Bunnell (Marcus), Jonathan VanHorn (Andrea), Sonya Deathearge-Brown (Clay).
She has five great-grandchildren; Tiffany Bunnell, Cas Bunnell (deceased), Thomas VanHorn, Charlotte VanHorn and Eleanor VanHorn. And she has two great-great grandchildren, Benjamin Goodwin and Amara Millie Goodwin.
There will be a grave-side service that will begin at 11 AM on Saturday, July 5, 2025 at Lawrence Memorial Cemetery in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. The clergy presiding will be Andrew Sanders from Mildred's church of preference.
Arrangements have been made through Emerson Funeral Services in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
