Mildred Shepard Cahoon, 87, of Jonesboro, passed away peacefully after a long illness Sunday, February 23, 2020, at Jonesboro Healthcare in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
She was born December 9, 1932, in Glen Allen, Mississippi, to Robert C. Shepard and Bertha Mae Ford. She attended High School in Greenville, Mississippi.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don O. Cahoon, a son Paul T. Cahoon, her parents, a brother Robert Shepard, Jr., and three sisters Arless Spencer, Carness Giachelli, and Marguerette Roberts.
She was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing bridge with her many friends. A member of First Baptist Church in Jonesboro, she served at the Care Center and was a regular member of her Sunday school class as long as her health allowed.
Survivors include sons David (Jo Anne), and Mark (Thyrsie), grandchildren: Clay Cahoon, Michael Cahoon, Casey Johnson, Sarah Thorn, and John Cahoon, and ten great-grandchildren: Baron, Tyke, Callie, Gideon, Oakley, Aspen, Krewe, Isla, Carson, and Collin.
The family will observe a private burial following the Service.
