Mike Statler

September 18, 1960 — September 23, 2020

Mike Statler, 60, of Jonesboro formerly of Norfolk, Virginia passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born September 18, 1960 in Jonesboro to Janet Cassiday and the late James R. Statler. Mike was of the Baptist belief. He was a graduate of Blytheville High School. Mike was a retiree of the Navy after 27 years in the service. After retiring from the Navy Mike started driving a big truck for Energy Carriers formerly known as Petro Tank Lines out of West Memphis.

He enjoyed working on cars, especially his mustangs with his favorite being his convertible. Mike also enjoyed working outside and he had a great work ethic. Most of all Mike loved his family and taking care of them.

In addition to his father, Mike was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Don and Dollie Nichols and paternal grandparents, George and Sally Statler.

In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife of 23 years, Kathleen Statler of the home; step-mother, Linda Statler of Piggott; step-father, Oakley Cassiday of Memphis, Tennessee; 4 sons: Ernest (Melody) Carter of Oklahoma, James Lynn (Julie) Pitts Jr. of Copper Hill, Virginia, Michael Lyndon (Ashley) Statler Jr. of Hot Springs and George (Kelsey) Statler of Camden; daughter, Jennifer (Brandon) Mullins of Trumann; 2 brothers, Kevin Statler of Jackson, Tennessee, Neil Mitchell of Little Rock; 3 sisters: Felicia (Kent) Davis of Little Rock, Debra Statler of West Memphis and Jenni (Garrett) McKenney of Piggott; 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Funeral service will be Monday, September 28, 2020 at 2:00 pm in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Bro. Dakota Crossno officiating.

Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 pm prior to the service.

The latest Arkansas Health Department Directives for large gatherings in the state allows Emerson Funeral Home Chapel to accommodate a maximum of 150 persons simultaneously. Face coverings must be worn to enter the building and social distancing will be in effect.
