Michelle Jane Kaullen, 51, of Bay, died Tuesday afternoon at NEA Medical Center in Jonesboro.
Born in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, Mrs. Kaullen lived in the Pitts community before moving to Jonesboro where she lived much of her life before moving to Bay two years ago. She was a kitchen manager for the Jonesboro School District and was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
Mrs. Kaullen fed thousands of students during her 14-year career with Jonesboro Schools and was affectionately known as “Miss Jitrbug.” She was Past President of the Arkansas School Food Service Association and was preceded in death by her parents: Coleman “Bud” Mathews, II, and Alice Carrie Mathews, and by a sister: Patsy Mathews.

Her husband: Frederick Paul Kaullen, Jr. of the home;
3 Sons: Matthew Riley of Bay,
Max Riley of Jonesboro, and
Justin Kaullen of Bay;
1 Daughter: Lisa Riley of Jonesboro;
2 Brothers: Coleman “Bud” Mathews, III, of Escondido, California, and
Richard Davis of Lanesboro, Massachusetts;
2 Sisters: Wendy Faye Wittneber of Dittmer, Missouri, and
Claire Oakley of Newport, Rhode Island;
3 Grandchildren: Samantha Hazelwood, Ashley Brooks; Angela “Haley” Riley;
A funeral mass will be held Monday morning, August 13, 2007, at 10:00 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Father Mark Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Holloway Cemetery near Grubbs with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers include: Richard Kaullen, Kevin Kaullen, Justin Kaullen, Ken Stadler,
Ed Wittneber and Jerod Nieswander.
Visitation will be held Sunday evening, 5-7, at Emerson Funeral Home. Rosary will be at 7:00 Sunday evening at Emerson Memorial Chapel.
