Michael Wayne (Peanut) Yates

Michael was born on July 21, 1955 in Osceola, Arkansas to Bobbie and H.G. Yates, Jr. He passed away on December 15, 2021 in Jonesboro, Arkansas at the age of 66.

Michael was loved by his family and countless friends. He was an active member of Jonesboro Worship Center and talked to anyone who would listen about Jesus and church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman for many years and he always had a tall tale to tell about his adventures. He was a friend to all and helped any way he could those who were in need. His fun loving spirit will be missed.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Bobbie Shannon Yates Belue and H.G. Yates, Jr; his sister, Carol Yates; and his brother, Tommy Yates.

Michael is survived by his sons - Eddie Yates of Jonesboro, AR; Justin Yates (Crystal) of Memphis, TN; and David Yates (Shea) of Jonesboro, AR, and by his daughter, Britney Yates Hall (David); five grandchildren – Kaitlyn Elizabeth Yates, Makynzee Faith Hall, Madyson Grace Hall, Payton Ann Yates and Ryder Alan Yates.  He is also survived by his brother, Billy Yates (Gail) of Jonesboro, AR and his sisters – Debbie Underwood of Cordova, TN; Rita Davison of Jonesboro, AR; and Beth Yates of Tuscaloosa, AL.

A visitation will be Thursday, December 16, 2021 from 5:00
- 7:00 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 17, 2021 at Emerson Funeral Home with Bro. Marty Spurlock. Burial will follow at Louise Chapel Cemetery in Joiner, AR at 1:00 p.m. with active pallbearers being: Cliff McQuay, Tim McQuay, Chandler Treadway, David Hall, Jim Kifer, and Mike Miller. Honorary pallbearer will be Dole Ward.
