Michael Wayne Riley

Michael “Mike” Wayne Riley, 57 of Jonesboro, passed from this life September 11, 2021 at St. Bernards Medical Center.  He was born August 11, 1964 to Bobby and Charlene Hardin Riley in Memphis, TN.  He had worked as a shop foreman at MDR Trucking.  He was a Baptist.  Mike enjoyed playing the drums, skiing barefoot, duck hunting, rodeos and roping, and telling stories.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Leigh Ann Riley; son, Blake Aaron Riley; mother, Charlene Riley; nephew, Riley Clark and father in law John Larry Rhodes.

Survivors include his father, Bob Riley (Pam) of Jonesboro; son, Evan Riley (girlfriend Lauren) of Jonesboro; 2 daughters, Jessi Guthrie (Mark) and Grace Riley, both of Jonesboro; sisters, Randi Howard (Jesse) of Jonesboro and Carol “Cissy” Clark (Mark) of Wynne.  Grandchildren, Aubree, Addie, Tinsley, Jaycie and Aaron.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Emerson Memorial Chapel from 12 Noon – 2:oo PM. Funeral service will start at 2:00 PM with Allen Elkins officiating.  Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Greg Slayton, Randy Thompson, Lannie Emfinger, Andy Weaver, Tom Hardin and Jimmy Hardin.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Jesse Howard, Mark Clark, Ethan Howard, Ryan Clark, Don Riley, Woody Riley and Charlie Riley.

A storyteller Gifted with the uncanny ability to make everyone laugh, because maybe his story wasn’t all that funny, but the way he told it was, and his infectious laughter would immediately have everyone around crying tears of merriment.
