Michael R. Overall

Mike Overall, 70, of Jonesboro, died Thursday, August 7, 2014, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.

Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Mike grew up in Campbell, Missouri and was a 1966 graduate of Arkansas State University where he was a member of the marching band and concert bands. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and worked at the Jonesboro Sun newspaper for 32 years, serving as Associate Editor the last several years before his retirement from the newspaper. Following his newspaper career, Mike worked 10 years for the Craighead Count-Jonesboro Public Library as a reading advisor.

Mike was a member of the Magnolia Road Baptist Church in Jonesboro and was an avid Jazz drummer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Corley Wilson Overall and Dorothy McCuiston Overall.

Survivors include his wife Janie Kennedy Bosche Overall of the home;

2 daughters, Lorraine (Greg Jacobs) Overall of Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts, and Jill Bosche (Ryan Poremski) of Austin, Texas;

1 brother, Corley (Barbara) Overall of Benton; and

his in-laws: James and Aletrus Kennedy of Jonesboro.

Funeral services will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Emil Williams officiating. A committal service will be held at 3:00 p.m. in Woodlawn Cemetery at Campbell, Missouri.

Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
