Michael Eugene Medlock

Mike Medlock, 59, of Jonesboro, died Wednesday at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston. He was a graduate of Central High School in Little Rock and an Arkansas State University alumnus; he was the owner of Insurance Network in Jonesboro for many years. He began his career in insurance in 1973. Mike served as an Executive President for Bancorp South Insurance Services. He was a dedicated supporter of local organizations including the United Way, St. Bernards Foundation, the ASU Foundation and Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House. Mike also served on many boards including Municipal Airport Commission, Healthcare Medical Group, and was past president of the Jonesboro Chamber of Commerce. He was appointed to the ASU Board of Directors by then-Gov. Mike Huckabee and served for ten years, two of those as chairman. He was a member of the Southwest Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Lynda Medlock of the home; son, Matt Medlock; daughters and son-in-law, Mary Kathryn Medlock, Julie & Adam Harmon,; step daughters, Ashley & Josh Cook, Aubree Bowen; granddaughter, Mollie Anne Harmon; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dan & Rita Medlock, David & Tammy Medlock; and sister and brother-in-law, Sue Anne & Mitch Worlow. Additionally, he is survived by his loving dog, Jack; nephews and nieces, Tyler, Spencer, and Meredith Worlow, Shelly Medlock, Lindy O’Neal, and Josh Rateliff.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H.E. Medlock; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Medlock and Mr. and Mrs. Henderson McDaniel.

Funeral services will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Southwest Church of Christ with Jimmy Adcox officiating. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Burial will follow in McDaniel Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Don Harmon, Mark Haggenmacher, George Krennerich, Jerry Brackett, Dave Davidson, Niel Crowson, Mike Thompson, and Ron McDaniel.

Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Insurance Network and James Sparrow.

Visitation will be Saturday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
