Michael Carol Hottel II, lovingly known as M.C., departed this life on December 11, 2024, at the age of 48, surrounded by his devoted family at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Born on September 22, 1976, in Jonesboro, M.C. lived a life marked by service, dedication, and an enduring love for his community.
M.C. found his calling with the City of Jonesboro, where he proudly worked for Parks and Recreation at Joe Mack Campbell Park. His deep passion for the baseball fields and the joy they brought to others made him a treasured presence in the community. A patriot at heart, M.C. served his country with honor in the United States Air Force from 1999 to 2003, a period of his life that exemplified his unwavering commitment to duty and country.
A man of faith, M.C. was an active member of First Baptist Church in Jonesboro. He upheld a cherished family legacy as a third-generation member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, where his generosity and camaraderie left a lasting impact. M.C. was an ardent fan of baseball, especially the St. Louis Cardinals, and took great pleasure in cheering on the Arkansas Razorbacks. His infectious enthusiasm for life extended to his work, which he approached with boundless energy and pride.
M.C.'s memory is forever cherished by those who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, great-grandparents, and his uncle, Danny Rowsey.
He leaves behind his devoted parents, Mike and Debi Hottel of Jonesboro; his beloved sister, Kati Nixon (Matt) of Little Rock; his treasured nephew, D.C. Nixon, also of Little Rock; and countless friends who were touched by his warmth, loyalty, and kind spirit.
In accordance with M.C.'s wishes, all services will be private, allowing his family and close friends to honor his memory in an intimate and heartfelt manner. His legacy of love, service, and community will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
