Michael Craig Harris

Michael Craig Harris, 55, passed away Monday, August 3, 2020, in Jonesboro. He was born November 28, 1964, to Joe Frank Harris and Freda Whitt Harris. Michael is preceded in death by his father.

Michael loved spending time with his family and longtime girlfriend. He was a generous and loving son, father, brother, and uncle. He was the primary caretaker for his mother, often going above and beyond to help her and other family members. During the yearly family reunion in Florida, he would get up at sunrise and invite any and all family members to join him in hunting for seashells along the beach. He was a much-loved employee of C & R Construction company for more than 30 years. According to company owner Carroll Caldwell, Michael was “the most reliable, dependable employee that anyone could ever have.”

Michael is survived by his daughters, Amanda Cutler and Michelle Harris, both of Jonesboro; mother, Freda Whitt Harris of Jonesboro; longtime girlfriend Kim Dortch of Paragould; brother, Mark Harris (Susan) of Jackson, TN; and three sisters, Missy Scroggs (Danny) of Goose Creek, S.C., Heidi Ford (Brian) of Memphis, TN, and Whitney Rook (Kevin) of Cabot, AR.

A memorial service will be held Saturday August 15, 2020, at 2:00 pm at Emerson Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations can be made to A Place of Grace at 3805A Stevens St, Jonesboro, AR 72401.

Due to COVID 19 guidelines, a facemask must be worn while in the chapel.
