Michael G. Watson, 61, of Jonesboro, passed away Sunday, November 15, 2015, at NEA Baptist Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born in Blytheville, Mike moved to Jonesboro in 1972 when he enrolled at Arkansas State University. Mike was a 1976 graduate of ASU and operated Mike Watson Rental Properties in Jonesboro. Mike worked several years in northeast Arkansas as a company representative for Lipton Foods, Inc. before entering the property development and management profession. With Lipton, Mike was recognized as a top sales representative for 1990, 1991, 1993 and 1994.

Mike was a member of First Baptist Church of Armorel and the Greater Jonesboro Chamber of Commerce. He was an avid ASU fan and was active in the ASU Redwolf Foundation, Assist Club, ASU Touchdown Club and supported other campus programs as well. Mike supported the works of Rennel Woods and At-risk American Male Educational Network (A.A.M.E.N.) of Jonesboro and enjoyed golf and traveling.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Max Thomas and Annette Maurine Harrison Watson; a brother, Max Richard Watson and a sister, Sandra Watson Caldwell.

Survivors include one brother, Ronald Watson of Chicago; his twin sister and her husband: Melanie Watson Powell and Mark Powell of Jonesboro; and he was known as "Uncle Mike" by several nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. John Miles officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Active pallbearers include Larry Worsham, Mike Warden, Jay Blackshare, Jeremy Watson, Randy Bearce, Gary Childers and Randy Harral.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home.
