Michael Dewayne Collier, age 50, of Jonesboro, formerly of Booneville, Arkansas, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 17, 1973, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Michael dedicated his professional life as a mechanic for Medic One, showcasing his skill and passion for fixing things. He was a member of Refuge Baptist Church in Lake City. Michael had a profound love for collecting various items, with a special fondness for hot wheels. His generous spirit was evident in his enjoyment of helping others, and he found great joy in spending time with his family, particularly his beloved grandbabies.
He is preceded in death by his father, Percy Collier, and one sister, Tonya Sterling. Michael is survived by his devoted wife of 23 years, Kym Collier, his mother, Linda Culverhouse of Jonesboro, mother-in-law Helen Boyd of Jonesboro, two daughters, Destiney Medrano (Andrew) of Jonesboro, and Shyann Sing of Jonesboro. He leaves behind two brothers, Carry Collier (Deanie) of Baskin, LA, and Randy Collier (Loria) of Vidalia, LA. Michael is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Toby Medrano and Selena Medrano, as well as one niece, Chelsea Carlton, and her two children, Hannah and Hunter. His special cousins Darrell Ring and Robert Hattenhauer, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a lifetime of friends.
Visitation for friends and family will be held on Monday, January 22, 2024, at Emerson Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at Emerson Memorial Chapel, commencing at 2:00 p.m., with Cary Collier officiating.
