Michael Calvin Walters, 59, of Jonesboro, passed from this life on Tuesday, February 11, 2020, at his home.
Mike was a practicing Professional Engineer with a career built on his uncanny ability to solve the problems that no one else could. He was a humble man who mentored anyone willing to listen. No matter how astounding he was as a professional and an educator, Mike valued the time spent with his family most of all. He enjoyed woodworking, completing various projects with his two sons, and anything asked of him by his wife to make their lives easier and more joyous. He was a jack-of-all-trades, and this translated to every aspect of his life. Those who have met him, respect him; those who know him, love him; and those who miss him, will never forget him.
Born in Chicago, Mike moved with his family to Memphis at any early age and was a graduate of the University of Memphis with a degree in mechanical engineering. Mike and his family lived in Kansas and Missouri before moving to Jonesboro in 1998 where he served as a senior engineer for Camfil APC for nearly 15 years. Most recently, Mike worked for SEAM Group, consulting in combustible dust hazards for industrial facilities.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Calvin Walters, and his father-in-law, E. Ray Davenport.
