Michael Louis "Mikey" Bowen

Michael Louis “Mikey” Bowen passed from this life June 4, 2014 in Jonesboro. Michael was born August 2, 1973 in Houston, TX to George and Carolyn Bowen. Michael spent the last 22 years residing in Jonesboro. As a young man, Michael enjoyed spending time watching monster trucks with his dad. As Michael got older, his love for racecars and racing grew tremendously and he became a member of Lowlife Racing. He loved star gazing and spending time with family, friends, Danny & Amanda Waters and his “God Children” including: Ernie Roberts, Deanna Roberts, Aireanna Roberts, Dalton Roberts, and Mason Roberts. Michael was a loving fiancé and would do anything for his friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Icy Pearl Bowen.
Michael is survived by his parents; his fiancée, Claire Depelteau, of 8 years; two stepsons: Jonathan and Kyle; two sisters: Michelle (Chris) Metcalf of Brookland and Marcia (Brad) Freeman of Austin, TX; one niece Brittany “Monster” Gilbert; one step-niece: Mallory Stormer both of Jonesboro; two nephews: Dylan “Dude” Bowen of Oak Harbor, WA and Dakota Freeman of Austin, TX; two step-nephews: Kyle and Austin Metcalf of Brookland.

Services will be 10 am Monday, June 9, 2014 at Emerson Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Guthrie officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery and the active pallbearers will include: Ernie Roberts, Danny Waters, Andrew Clark, David Holt, Jammy West, and Shane Waters. The Honorary Pallbearers will be Dylan Bowen & Dakota Freeman.

Visitation will be 3 – 5 pm Sunday, June 8, 2014 at Emerson Funeral home.
