Michael Preston Blount

Michael Preston Blount, 32 of Jonesboro parted from this life January 2, 2023 at NEA Baptist Hospital.  He was born May 10, 1990 in Jonesboro to Michael Alan Blount and Vickie Akins Blount. He spent his life in Jonesboro. Michael enjoyed listening to music, playing video games, fishing and hanging out with his friends.

Michael was a beautiful soul with a quick wit and the ability to make friends with everyone he met. He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Vickie and Scott Gilmer of Jonesboro; sisters, Breanna Gilmer of Jonesboro and Jessica (Drake) Melton of Jonesboro; his father, Michael Alan Blount of Pocahontas; his maternal grandmother Freda Akins of Brookland and his paternal grandmother Doris Krutsinger of Pocahontas; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous friends.

Michael is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Sanford Akins and his paternal grandfather John Krutsinger.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 8, 2023 at Emerson Memorial Chapel from 12:00-2:00 PM with service starting at 2:00 PM. Reagan Lee will be officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery with Caleb McCoy, Trey Tribble, Ruel Jackson, Erick Green, Tanner Murphy, and Thad Gulley, serving as pallbearers.
