Michael Lloyd Barkley, 74, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at home.  He was born April 6, 1951 in Jonesboro to the late William “Snooky” Barkley and Doris Pyle Barkley.

As a child, he traveled with his parents as a military family about various states & countries, he settled in the Jonesboro & Brookland area where he met and married Jean. Michael was a member of Family Fellowship Baptist Church, was a high school athlete who settled into a 30-year career as a cable splicer for Southwestern Bell/ AT&T, an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, and served in the Arkansas Army National Guard. But most of all he was a dedicated provider and guardian for his family who meant the world to him.

In addition to his parents, Michael is preceded in death by his wife, Jean Barkley and a brother, Gary Barkley.

Survivors include his son, Michael (Jessica) Barkley of Jonesboro; daughter, Natalie (Jamie) Davis of Brookland and grandchildren, Ethan (Katie) Barkley of Jonesboro and Colin Barkley of Jonesboro.

Funeral service will be Friday, May 30, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Bro. Ferrel Duffel officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 a.m. prior to the service.
