Mettie Aline Buck

Mettie Aline Collie Buck, 94, of Jonesboro, passed from this life on Monday, May 13, 2019, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born in Etowah, Mrs. Buck lived most of her life in Marked Tree before moving to Jonesboro. She worked 41 years as a telephone operator for E. Ritter and Company and was a member of the Church of Christ. Mrs. Buck took pleasure in caring for her home, being with her family and enjoyed dancing.

Mrs. Buck was preceded in death by her husband, Elvie Wilburn "Sonny" Buck; her parents: George and Lucille Clark Collie; a brother, Bruce Howard Collie and a sister, Jewell Hutcheson.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law: Doyle Wilburn and Anna Buck of Jonesboro;
1 brother, George H. Collie of Canyon Lake, Texas;
5 sisters: Ophelia Thompson of Marked Tree,
Trubelle Bessent of Haysville, North Carolina;
Adar Penter of Jonesboro;
Barbara Faye Pounds of Belmont, Mississippi, and
Gale Watters of Benton;
1 grandson and his wife: Randall Wayne and Beth Buck of Horseshoe Lake; and
3 great grandchildren: Randall Graham Buck, Samuel Eli Buck and Bella Mae Buck, all of Horseshoe Lake.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in Emerson Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Marked Tree Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time in the chapel.
