Melvin Lentz
JONESBORO – Melvin Lentz, 97, died Friday, February 6, at Craighead Nursing Center in Jonesboro.
Melvin was born in Black Rock, AR and lived in Jonesboro since 1939. For many years he worked as a radio, television and appliance repairman in Jonesboro. He later owned and managed a Western Auto store in Harrisburg before retiring in Jonesboro. During World War II, Melvin served in the U.S. Navy, stationed in the South Pacific.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Corrine Lentz of Jonesboro; sons Alan Lentz of Atlanta, GA and Louis Lentz of Cincinnati, OH; and two grandchildren, Alexandra and Matthew Lentz of Atlanta, GA.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 9, in the chapel at Craighead Nursing Center, with burial immediately following at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9:30 until service time Monday February 9, 2009 at the Craighead Nursing Center Chapel.
