Melvin Ray Gunter, 63 of Waldenburg, passed from this life Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at the Flo and Phil Jones hospice house. He was born in Jonesboro to Donald and Shirley Scholze Gunter March 4, 1955. He was a truck driver, loved old cars, guns and he collected knives. Melvin was of the Lutheran belief. He is preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his mother, Shirley Green of Jonesboro; sister, Gina Gunter Mills (Jetty) of Greenfield; nieces, Laura Tarwater, Candice Stump (J.D.), Amanda Mills and Leanne Mills; nephew, Matthew Tarwater (Jennifer).
Visitation will be Friday, July 20, 2018 from 1-2 PM at Emerson Memorial Chapel. Service will start at 2 PM with Russell Shewmaker officiating. Burial will follow at the Waldenburg Cemetery in Waldenburg, Arkansas with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.
Pallbearers will be Matt Tarwater, John David Stump, Kenny Gunter, Conner Hogue, Alan Tarwater, Jetty Mills and Cory Pope.
