Melissa Dione Belcher, 42, of Jonesboro, passed from this life on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. Born on September 9, 1981, in Greenville, Mississippi, she was the cherished daughter of Gary and Louise Chavers.
Melissa began her education at Pace Christian Academy and finished at Nettleton High School, where she graduated in 2000. During her time there, she not only excelled academically but also found joy in playing soccer, a passion that would stay with her throughout her life. She pursued higher education at Arkansas State University, earning a degree in Business, a testament to her dedication and intelligence.
Professionally, Melissa thrived at the family business, CWC Mechanical, where her leadership and organizational skills shone brightly. Her commitment to her work was exemplary, and her contributions were invaluable to the success of the company.
Outside of her professional life, Melissa found immense joy in various pursuits. She was an avid shopper, finding delight in discovering new treasures. Traveling was another passion of hers, allowing her to create lasting memories with her loved ones. However, her greatest joy came from watching her sons, Nolan and Stryker, play baseball. Melissa's unwavering support and encouragement were evident in every game they played. As a mother, Melissa poured her heart and soul into nurturing and guiding her children with tenderness and care. Her love for her children was boundless, and she embraced every moment with them with joy and gratitude.
Family was at the core of Melissa's being, and she was incredibly devoted to her loved ones. She had a remarkable memory, never forgetting a holiday, birthday, or special event, and always made sure to celebrate them with enthusiasm and love. Melissa was a devoted wife for 19 years to her husband, Jason. Their bond was one of unwavering love, mutual respect, and shared dreams. Together, they built a life filled with joy, laughter, and countless cherished memories.
Melissa is survived by her loving husband, Jason Belcher, and their sons, Nolan and Stryker, who were the light of her life. She is also survived by her devoted parents, Gary and Louise Chavers, her brothers, Reggie Chavers (Joey) and his children, Paula Lamb (Ayson) and Hayden Chavers (Maddie) all of Jonesboro, Mark Chavers (Buffy) and his children, McKenzie Chavers (Drace Provost) and Wren Chavers all of Jonesboro, and her beloved grandmother, Audrey Chavers of Walker, Louisiana, and one great nephew, Fletcher Lamb, in-law’s, Terry and Judy Belcher of Walnut Ridge, brother-in-law, Ryan Belcher (Morgan) and his daughter, Lily Belcher all of Nashville, and sister-in-laws, Mary Lynn Mullen of Washington D.C. and Gwen Mullen and her daughter, Meg of Walnut Ridge. Additionally, she leaves behind a multitude of relatives and friends who were touched by her kindness, generosity, and infectious spirit.
The visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Friday, March 22, 2024 at Emerson Funeral Home.
The funeral will be held at 10 am on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Emerson Funeral Home with Jonathan Toler, Derek Collins, and James Moore officiating. Burial will follow at McDaniel Cemetery with the active pallbearers being Nathan Craig, Tanner O’Guinn, Rex Tedder, Slade Caldwell, Gage Dobbs, Drake Martin, Doyne Davis, and Paul Carter.
The honorary pallbearers will be the Walnut Ridge High School Baseball Team, Nettleton Class of 2000, and the employees of CWC Mechanical.
In Lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the St. Bernards Cancer Center.
