Melinda Beth Cobb, 52, of Jonesboro, died Sunday morning at her home. She had lived in Jonesboro since 1996 and was a member of Southwest Church of Christ. Melinda was a graduate of Lake City High School, the Home of the Catfish, and she graduated from the University of Arkansas with a BS in Education. She was a Nationally Board Certified Teacher and taught science at Annie Camp Junior High since 1996. Melinda was also a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Teacher Sorority. She was preceded in death by her father, Antone “Bud” Love.
Survivors include her husband Jerry, of the home; son, Blake Cobb of Little Rock, Arkansas; daughter, Jera Beth Cobb of Austin, Texas; her mother Mary Thomas of Jonesboro; sisters Debbie Baker of Glendale, Arizona; Gloria Miller of Little Rock; Christine DeWitt of Conway, Arkansas and Carolyn Fry of Little Rock.
Funeral services will be 10:00 Wednesday morning at the Southwest Church of Christ with Dr. Jimmy Adcox and Chris Harrell officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will be at Pine Log Cemetery with Kent McDaniel, Ray Winters, Mike Parkey, Bob Rahle, Terry Wilson, Larry Jones, Andy Miller and Scott Woodruff serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are the facility and staff of Annie Camp Junior High School.
