Melba Newell

Melba J. Newell, 75 of Walnut Ridge passed from this life Sunday, March 12, 2023, in Walnut Ridge.  She was born in Lunsford, Arkansas, June 3, 1947 to Floyd and Inis Lamb.  Melba worked as a nurses tech. She had lived in Jonesboro and moved to Walnut Ridge and was there for a year.  Melba was of the Church of Christ belief and attended Washington Ave Church of Christ.  She enjoyed cooking, canning and gardening.  Melba loved to take walks and read the Bible. Melba is preceded in death by her parents, daughter; Lisa Qualls, 2 sisters; Laverne Hattenhouer and Shirley Morgan; brothers, Larry Lamb and Dan Lamb

Survivors include 2 daughters; Crystal Bryant, Walnut Ridge; Tina Tate, Watonga, Oklahoma; brother, Gerald Lamb of Halliday; Cathy Hoffman of Jonesboro, Sarah Allen of Jonesboro.  Grandchildren, Blane Weinmeister, Taran Weinmeister, Cory Schisler, Malie Sailor, Hanna Kibby, Hunter Qualls and Tyler Qualls, four great grandchildren, and many cousins, family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be 10:30 AM Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Washington Avenue Church of Christ.
