Melba Jean Dozier, 85, of Bella Vista, formerly of Jonesboro, died Monday evening, April 11, 2011, at the Circle of Life Hospice Care Center in Bentonville.
Born in Monette, Mrs. Dozier lived much of her life in Jonesboro before moving to Bella Vista three and a half years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. Melba was an avid reader and enjoyed working cross word puzzles. She was preceded in death by her husband, R.E. Dozier, by a brother, Ted Jackson, and by an infant sister, Maxine Jackson.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law: Mike Dozier of Seattle, Washington, Steve and Shelley Dozier of Rogers, and Jim and Kathy Dozier of Collierville, Tennessee; and
4 grandchildren: Jennifer Miller and her husband, Paul, of Rogers, Matt Dozier of Fayetteville, and Megan Dozier and Emily Dozier, both of Collierville.
Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 11:00 in Oaklawn Cemetery with Michael Blackwood officiating, under the direction of Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro.
There will be no visitation.
