Melba Jean Gant

Melba Jean Gant, 92, of Mishawaka, Indiana passed away at her home on Sunday, March 8, 2020. She was born October 3, 1927 in Monette to the late Peter and Nancy Newton.

Melba lived in the Jonesboro area for several years before moving to Indiana. She loved doing landscaping and gardening.

In addition to her parents, Melba is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Gant; sisters, Alice Foster, Lattie Towell, Beatrice Scroggs and Thomas Lawrence; brothers, JL Newton and Frank Newton; grandson, Frank and great-grandson, Josef.

She s survived by her sons, Russell Gant and James Gant of Mishawaka, Indiana; daughters, Marjorie (Terry) Kosinski of Jonesboro, Pamela Launsberry of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Judy Uhl of Rockford, Illinois, and Martha Jayne Gerber of Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Christina, Jennifer, Brian, Kassandra, Andrew, Heather, Flora, James, Rona, Jeni, Melany, Michel, Brett, Joseph and Joshua as well as 24 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.
