Meghan Dion Summitt, 37, of Brookland passed from this life on Wednesday December 20, 2023 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born July 25, 1986 in Jonesboro to Scotty Stevens and Lisa Vaughn Stevens.
Meghan has lived in Brookland all of her life and was a member of the Central Baptist Paragould Campus.
Meghan’s love of life was enormous. She adored watching Razorback sports, it was one of her largest joys to share with her family & friends. Mainly baseball since watching Razorback football involved a lot of screaming & crying. Her son Harrison only expanded her love of sports. Watching Harrison compete as hard as he loved was her favorite thing on earth. It’s something she shared with anyone who would listen and even most of the people who wouldn’t. Being a part of the Bearcat family was something Meghan took very seriously. She may have only had one son, but Meghan was the mother of many. Meghan has been a shining light to everyone who met her throughout her entire life, especially through the little things she enjoyed with her family & friends. Things like playing games, taking weekend trips, coloring velvet art & so much more. Her shine never dulled & we can’t describe how proud she is that her pride & joys, Harrison & Josh, will undoubtedly carry that shine with them through life sharing it with anyone who will listen & even most of those who won’t.
Meghan is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Cloyce and Joanna Vaughn as well as paternal grandparents, Don and Kay Stevens.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 14 years, Josh Summitt of the home; son, Harrison Summitt of the home; parents, Scotty Stevens and Lisa Vaughn Stevens of Brookland; sister, Courtney (Matt) Spencer of Bay; nephew, Jax Spencer of Bay; In-laws Jerry and Pam Mullins of Brookland and William and Angela Summitt of Midlothian, Texas as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held Saturday December 23, 2023 from 1-3 pm at Emerson Funeral Home.
A celebration of life will immediately follow the visitation at 3:00 p.m. Honorary pallbearers include Adam Creecy, Bryan McMasters, Ryan Childers, Blake Ingram, Spencer Vaughn, John Campbell, Josh Lange and David Vaughn.
